The Invisible Man

For Design and Portfolio, in groups we were given a designer to research along with the brand ethos, target market and inspirations. Our group had Martin Margiela and although I had heard the name I didn’t know all that much about him (really..how easy is it to know about somebody who has never consented to a photograph or granted an interview!) but his mystique made it all more interesting. Being called ‘a fashion insider's rock star’ his designs appear on the catwalk and are absorbed by the mainstream the next year. His designs are really avant-garde, and with his deconstruction of his garments he really pushes the boundaries of fashion.
